Granite City Community Solar ground mount PV system

Windfree Solar was contracted to provide full EPC services for a 6.196 MW front-of-meter Community Solar ground mount solar PV system in Granite City, IL. The project was partially funded with Illinois SRECs through the Illinois Shines Traditional Community Solar subcategory and was awarded those SRECs by the Illinois Power Agency due to additional equity points earned — which required the developer to use an Illinois Approved Vendor that was also a certified Equity Eligible Contractor for a majority of the construction contract. Windfree Solar is a registered Illinois Shines Approved Vendor, a certified Equity Eligible Contractor (EEC), and a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE). The system serves communities in Ameren territory.
